About Us
Why NWI Utilities Exists
NIPSCO is not an optional utility. They power our homes, protect our health, and support daily life.
Yet too often, residents face:
- Confusing rate increases
- Hard-to-understand bills
- Limited transparency
- Fear of shutoffs with little warning
NWI Utilities was created to shine a light on these issues and give the community a shared place to learn, understand, and speak up.

Our Impact
The Story Behind the Mission
NWI Utilities began after a local story revealed how over 130,000 homes in Northwest Indiana were at risk of utility shutoffs due to massive rate increases.
That moment made one thing clear:
People needed better information, clearer explanations, and a stronger collective voice.
This site exists to help make sure those stories are heard, understood, and not ignored.

How You Can Help
You can help by staying informed, sharing accurate information, and supporting others in your community as they navigate utility bills, notices, and rate changes. NWI Utilities does not accept donations—support comes from awareness, conversation, and collective understanding. By asking questions, sharing experiences, and helping ensure important information reaches neighbors, families, and seniors, you help raise the standard for fairness, transparency, and accountability in essential utilities.
